PANAJI: Dabolim MLA and Minister Mauvin Godinho submitted a memorandum to Defence Minister of India Rajnath Singh related to difficulties faced by residents residing near Dabolim Airport.
Godinho met Singh at INS Hansa during his transit visit to New Delhi.
“Presented a Memorandum to Defence Minister of India, Rajnath Singh, regarding the difficulties faced by the people residing in and around the Airport,” said Godinho
He further said that he has additionally also submitted a copy of the Memorandum presented to me by CREDAI Goa was enclosed, listing all the
related issues.
“I have further requested an audience with Rajnath Singh to resolve all issues. A meeting is to be called in Delhi at a later date,” he said
A fortnight ago the Supreme Court ordered status quo on demolition of structures built in and around Dabolim airport, until further orders.
The High Court of Bombay at Goa had ordered demolition of as many 45 “illegal structures” situated in and around Dabolim airport so as to ensure flying safety as these structures were posing danger to flights.
