CANCA: Two young people riding motorcycles stole a woman’s gold chain from a roadside business in Verla-Canca. The incident happened when two guys on bikes stopped close to the woman, according to the police.
First, the pillion rider dismounted and inquired if she wanted cigarettes. He asked for a bottle of water when she told him she didn’t sell smokes.
In the midst of the confusion, the man grabbed the woman’s gold chain by the neck, hopped back on the bike, and they rode off.
As is typical in incidents of chain-snatching, both suspects had partially veiled faces and were dressed in dark jackets. An investigation has been initiated by Mapusa Police over the matter.
