MARGAO: The Margao Town Police have registered a case after a woman was allegedly robbed of her gold chain by two unidentified motorcycle-borne snatchers near the Rosary Church, Navelim, early on Sunday morning.
According to the complaint lodged by Francisca Victoria Gonsalves, a resident of Navelim, the incident occurred on November 2, 2025, at around 6:15 a.m. while she was attending Sunday Mass and walking near the Rosary College construction site.
Two unknown persons reportedly approached her from behind on a motorcycle and snatched her gold chain worth approximately ₹1.8 lakh, before speeding away from the scene.
An FIR has been registered under Section 304(2) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The investigation is being carried out by PSI Shubham Gaunkar of Margao Town Police Station.
Police have launched a search to trace and apprehend the culprits.
