CANACONA: An incident of chain snatching was reported at Patnem in Canacona following a complaint lodged by Noa Svotisky, an Israeli national residing at Patnem, Canacona.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on January 22, 2026, at around 4.45 pm near Tubki Resort, Patnem. The complainant stated that while she was walking from Tubki Resort towards her rented room at Casa Beach Hut Resort, an unknown two-wheeler rider approached her from behind.
The accused, described as wearing a yellow-coloured T-shirt, allegedly snatched two gold chains weighing approximately 10 grams and valued at around ₹1.35 lakh from her neck before fleeing the spot on his motorcycle.
Police have registered a case in the matter, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Ajit Velip of Canacona Police Station.
