PANAJI: Goa University witnessed two exciting quarter final encounters on Day 19 of the Inter Collegiate Men’s Cricket Championship 2025 to 26 at the Goa University Ground in Bambolim, with Government College Borda and Don Bosco College Panjim advancing to the semi finals after convincing victories.
In the first match, Government College of Commerce and Economics, Borda registered a commanding 107 run win over Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Borda posted a competitive total of 187 for seven in 20 overs.
Bansil Pandya led the batting effort with a quickfire 50 off 28 balls, striking six fours and two sixes. Moh Huz provided strong support with a blistering 43 from 21 deliveries, helping the side set a challenging target.
In response, Kare College of Law struggled to build partnerships and were bowled out for 80 runs in 14.3 overs. Vishwesh Devidas and Vedang Naik top scored with 13 runs each. Moh Huz delivered an outstanding bowling performance, claiming five wickets for just four runs in four overs, while Sayyad Khadar Zubair picked up two wickets for 19 runs.
In the second quarter final, Don Bosco College Panjim defeated Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics Margao by eight wickets. After being put in to bat, Shree Damodar College were bowled out for 157 in their allotted 20 overs. Kushal Vidya scored 41 runs from 33 balls while Vismay Falgaonkar added 40 runs.
The Don Bosco bowling attack was led by Anuresh K, who claimed three wickets for 28 runs, while Namdev Raul and Yogesh Kauthankar contributed with crucial breakthroughs.
Chasing 158 for victory, Don Bosco comfortably reached the target in 19 overs, losing only two wickets. Ajay Raj played a match winning knock of 55 runs from 38 balls, supported by Aman Kambli with 41 and Yogesh Kauthankar with 40.
Following these results, the semi finals will see DM’s College Assagao face Goa Medical College Bambolim, while Government College Borda will take on Don Bosco College Panjim at the Goa University Ground.
