PANAJI: Goa Governor P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Thursday extended warm greetings to the teaching fraternity on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, paying rich tributes to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and highlighting the vital role of educators in nation-building.
The Governor, in his message, described teachers as the “true nation-builders” who impart knowledge, instill values, inspire curiosity, and nurture the character of their students. “In today’s rapidly changing world, their role is even more significant as they guide young minds to embrace innovation, uphold ethical values, and become responsible citizens. As India marches towards the goal of Viksit Bharat @2047, the contribution of teachers will be pivotal in creating a generation that is skilled, compassionate, and future-ready,” he said.
Deeply appreciating the tireless efforts of educators, the Governor added, “May your work continue to enlighten and empower generations to come. Happy Teachers’ Day.”
Chief Minister Sawant, in his message, said Teachers’ Day is celebrated as a mark of tribute to the contribution of teachers to society. Remembering Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan as a “teacher par excellence,x philosopher and noted educationist,” Sawant said his contributions to nation-building remain immeasurable.
“Teachers mentor young minds and guide them to become responsible citizens. They should ignite the desire for inquiry and knowledge among students, develop creativity and transform themselves into role models,” the Chief Minister said.
He also congratulated the recipients of the CM-Vashistha Guru Puraskar 2024-25, acknowledging their dedication and service to education in Goa. “May you continue to inspire, educate and guide with the same passion and dedication that have always been the hallmark of our great educators,” he added.
