PANJIM: Reacting to news about the transfer of the governor of Goa, Aam Aadmi Party said that rather than saying that the governor was transferred, it was more appropriate to say that the governor got himself transferred after seeing the dismal performance of the government particularly in its covid response.
AAP convenor Elvis Gomes said that the governor was on what in government circles is called ‘cooling posting’ after a tough stint in Kashmir. However, Gomes said that the governor could no longer remain a silent spectator to the below par performance of the goa government in the matter of an appropriate response to the covid situation which even led to open accusations against the media of sowing discord between them.
“Governor like any government servant who unhappy with a posting seeks transfer, got himself out. An in-house governor was better than an outsourced governor from Maharashtra” said Gomes stating that Satya Pal Malik’s experience could have been used by the government instead of keeping him out of the loop.
