PANAJI: Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju praised the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), describing it as a beacon of humanitarian service rooted in neutrality, voluntary action, and compassion that brings hope and healing to people in times of crisis. He was speaking at the Annual General Meeting of the IRCS Goa State Branch, held at Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula.
As President of the Goa State Branch, the Governor commended the organisation for its initiatives in disaster preparedness and relief, healthcare services, and youth engagement. “Your work has strengthened bonds of solidarity within society and is a testimony to the selfless service of volunteers, staff and well-wishers. I deeply appreciate the Goa branch for its outstanding contribution to the people of Goa,” he said.
The meeting also featured the release of the Annual Report 2024–25, discussions on the Administrative Report, and recognition of various IRCS branches in Goa with awards. Earlier, IRCS Goa Chairperson Shri Gaurish Dhond welcomed the gathering, which was attended by members, volunteers, students, and office bearers.
