PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the government of Goa has always been in the forefront in successfully implementing several welfare-oriented schemes for the benefit of all, particularly the weaker sections.

The State has consistently maintained an atmosphere of unity and brotherhood among the people from different sections of society”, said CM Sawant
Dr. Sawant in his message said that, “Independence Day is that joyous occasion that invokes a sense of pride and honour among the countrymen. The independence that we got in 1947 was the result of more than a century of relentless sacrifices offered by countless patriots for national freedom. Our freedom fighters with their hard work and sacrifice endured numerous sufferings, to safeguard the socio-cultural ethos of our motherland. This is a day to express our gratitude towards them”.
He further said that it is our turn to pay tributes to these supreme sacrifices, by making India a global superpower in every field. From academics to aeronautics, from trade & commerce to defence and from information technology to wellness.
“The world must look up to India as a power to reckon with. By contributing to endeavours such as atmanirbhar bharat and swayampurna goa we can achieve this feat.” he added
On this proud historic occasion, CM Sawant also appealed everyone to give their best for the betterment of the State and our Country, so that we can live in peace, prosperity and success.
