PANAJI: KTCL Chairman Ulhas Tuenkar today said that Goa government employees will be issued KTC monthly passes by charging them for 22 days for the month and not at the regular concession rates.
KTCL had earlier announced discontinuing the pass system for govt employees stating that they are paid a travelling allowance by the government.
“Goa government employees will be issued KTC monthly passes by charging them for 22 days for the month and not at the regular concession rates,” said Tuenkar.
Derrick Pereira Neto, Managing Director of KTC, announced in a circular on June 11 that pass concessions for workers in corporations, aided institutions, autonomous bodies, and state and federal government departments would be discontinued.
This program was first launched by the late Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, is being discontinued is that pass holders will continue to receive their transport allowance, which is considered a double benefit.
