PORVORIM: Porvorim Police have registered an offence after government funds were allegedly wrongly credited to a bank account in Madhya Pradesh, from which ₹89,108 was withdrawn and not returned.
According to police, the case has been registered at Porvorim Police Station under Crime No. 12/2026 under Sections 316(2) and 314 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), based on a complaint filed by Shreyas D’Silva, Under Secretary (GA-I), General Administration Department, Secretariat, Porvorim-Goa.
As per the complaint, on July 30 and 31, 2025, an amount of ₹1,62,125 and ₹32,895 was wrongly credited at TNK, Porvorim, Bardez-Goa, to Savings Bank Account No. 38950100015091 held at Bank of Baroda, Kukshi Branch, Madhya Pradesh, belonging to Raju Bhuriya, a resident of Gram Banda, Tehsil Kukshi, District Dhar, Madhya Pradesh.
Out of the total amount, ₹89,108 was allegedly withdrawn by the account holder. Despite being informed, the accused reportedly refused to repay the wrongly withdrawn government amount, thereby committing criminal breach of trust and related offences.
Police said the accused has not been arrested so far and no notice has been issued. Further investigation is in progress.
