CANACONA: Government High School (GHS), Padi-Barcem girls won the State level under-14 yrs by defeating Dr. Ambedkar English High School, Mapuza.
Or̤g̤a̤n̤i̤s̤e̤d̤ b̤y̤ D̤irectorate of S̤ports and Y̤outh A̤ffairs, P̤a̤n̤j̤i̤m̤ and played at Sports Complex, Ponda, G̤H̤S̤ P̤a̤dd̤i̤ B̤a̤r̤c̤e̤m̤ Q̤ṳe̤p̤e̤m̤ won the S̤t̤a̤t̤e̤ L̤e̤v̤e̤l̤ C̤h̤a̤m̤p̤i̤o̤n̤ship (1st Place) i̤n̤ K̤h̤o̤ K̤h̤o̤ t̤o̤ṳr̤n̤a̤m̤e̤n̤t̤ ṳn̤d̤e̤r̤ 14 y̤r̤s̤ g̤i̤r̤l̤ by defeating Dr. Ambedkar English High School, Mapusa by 02 points.
In the first innings, GHS Padi girls scored 10 points, while Dr. Ambedkar Eng H/S, Mapusa could get only 5 points. Whereas in the second innings Mapusa girls rallied strongly scoring 07 points against Padi Girls score of just 4 points but Dr. Ambedkar EHS lost the finals with an overall score of 12-14 in favour of GHS Padi-Barcem.
GHS Padi Headmaster Lourenco Pereira congratuled the students and the PE Teacher Savita Velip for training the girls, imparting useful training in Kho kho game.
