CANACONA: Canacona police have booked three people including two from Canacona and one from Margao for inducting a complainant to pay Rs.15,00,000/- to provide a government job of Civil Engineer in PWD to the brother-in-law of the complainant.
Upon the complaint of one Nisha Chari, a resident of Iddar-Loliem (Canacona), Canacona police have registered a case under section 420 r/w 34 IPC against three accused persons – Mithil Chari r/o Mahalwada, Poinguinim, Pritesh Chari r/o Iddar Loliem Canacona and Parag Raikar r/o Margao Goa.
The Canacona incident of Cash for Govt job comes close on the heels of FIRs against Pooja Naik (an employee in Goa Secretariat) at different police stations in connection with fake promises of government jobs. It is reportedly learnt that atleast one of the accused in Canacona ‘Cash for government Job Scam’ incident is a frontline and close BJP Karyakarka of South Goa.
Nisha in her complaint accused the trio that on 3rd of July ‘2023 at Canacona with a common intention have induced her to pay an amount of Rs.1500000/- under the pretext of offering Government Job for the post of Civil Engineer in PWD to her Brother-in-Law.
Police further informed that the amount of Rs 6,00,000/ were paid to Pritesh Chari’s account from the bank account of the complainant, Rs 6,00,000/- was paid to Mithil Chari’s Bank account from the Bank account of complainants husband and the remaining amount of Rs 3,00,000/- was given partly in cash and partly through net banking to Mithil Chari.
Police informed that further all the total amount of 1500000/-(Rupees Fifteen lakhs) was transferred to Parag Raikar r/o Margao Goa for the purpose of providing Government Job.
