PANJIM: Porvorim IND MLA Rohan Khaunte today said that the construction license to GMR Goa International Airport was granted without the required payment of fees.
Addressing a press conference, Khaunte charged that government lost revenue of Rs 49.36 crore, the construction license fee, which was wavied off to GMR by the Mopa Airport Development Authority (MADA).
Khaunte said that MADA is headed by chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and was constituted on September 5, 2018.
He said that GMR applied for construction license on October 16, 2018 and the license to GMR was issued in February 20, 2020 without the payment construction license fees amounting to Rs 49.36 cr.
He said based on an undertaking given by GMR construction license was issued to them.
Alleging construction license scam, Khaunte demanded investigation into this matter and failure to which he will be forced go through judicial means.
