MARGAO: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee on Monday said that the insensitive, irresponsible and corrupt BJP Government headed by Dr. Pramod Sawant is all out to seek cheap publicity by displaying photos of himself and other BJP functionaries at the Covid Vaccination Centre.
“We demand that the publicity hungry Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant must write to the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi & BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavde must write to BJP National President J.P Nadda and demand that photos of BJP functionaries must be displayed on the Death Certificate of those succumbing to Covid & at every Crematorium and Burial ground,” stated Goa Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Amarnath Panjikar.
He said the Congress Party has raised strong objections to the act of BJP to display banners at Adarsh High School, Margao which is one of the Covid Vaccination Centre with photographs of Chief Minister, Prime Minister, BJP National President J.P Nadda, State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Union Minister Shripad Naik and Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar congratulating Prime Minister on completion of 7 years in office.
Leader of Opposition and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat first raised the issue on Social Media posting photographs of the banner placed by the BJP at the entrance gate of the Covid Vaccination Centre. “Publicity hungry BJP- Goa displays banners with photos of BJP – India functionaries and Lotus Symbol at Covid Vaccination Centre at Adarsh High School, Margao.
“This is Government of Goa programme and Political Parties have not right to claim a credit for the same. Collector of South Goa must act,” Digambar Kamat stated.
Reacting strongly to the act of the BJP, South Goa District Congress President said that “We demand BJP President Sadanand Shet Tanavade must apologise to the people of Goa for misusing tax payers money to seek cheap publicity. Defective Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and his Government is looting the State Treasury by making people suffer.
Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress President Beena Naik in her reaction said “This is AapdameAvsar of Shameless BJP. The State BJP has not left a single opportunity to make fortunes from “Business of Sickness” during this Covid Pandemic. Shame on Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade”
Youth Congress President Varad Mardolkar hit out at BJP by saying “People are dying due to gross mismanagement of insensitive Government of Goa under Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant. People of Goa are sad to loose almost 2625 lives out of which many were killed by BJP Government by stopping Oxygen supply. Unfortunately, BJP is congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is an insult to all those who suffered and are suffering in Covid Pandemic.
