PANAJI: Kanhaiya Lal, a Hindu common man, was brutally murdered in his tailoring shop by two radical Jihadis in Rajasthan’s Udaipur.
The two Jihadis not only recorded themselves committing the dastardly act but also gave an open threat, laughing while they did it, to the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nupur Sharma.
Similarly, Umesh Kolhe, a pharmacy owner, was killed by radical jihadis in Maharashtra’s Amaravati.
“These are not ordinary incidents but an assault on civil society, the constitution, and democracy,” said Hindu Raksha Maha Aghadi, strongly condemning these killings. Such inhuman Jihadi acts, which used to be committed by Islamic State in Syria and Afghanistan, have now begun to take place in India too! There has been a notable rise in the movement and activity of radical organisations in Goa.
“Every year, on 6th December, attempts are made to stoke communal tension in Goa by putting up posters of the Babri mosque,” the Aghadi said.
In the past, they said, the Indian Mujahideen terrorist Yasin Bhatkal had stayed in Goa for a year, and David Headley – the accused in Mumbai 26/11 attacks, had conducted a recce of two Chabad Houses (Jewish Community Centres) in two villages in Goa.
“Due to the influx of international tourists in the state, Goa is a potential target for terrorists. There is a strong possibility that those migrating to Goa for employment may comprise illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and Rohingyas,” Hindu Raksha Maha Aghadi said, adding the radicals can easily enter Goa through this route.
“Today, it has emerged that the murderers of Kanhaiya Lal have links with the Pakistani organisation, Dawat-E-Islam. A similar radical ideology might have an influence in Goa, too! To ensure that the calm and peace-loving Goans are not faced with an inhuman ‘Kanhaiya Lal-like’ situation in the future, the Goa government should immediately take the necessary steps for the state’s security,” said Shri Subhash Velingkar of Hindu Raksha Maha Aghadi.
Like other states, the Goa government too should form a department in every police station where citizens can report information on illegal immigrants and radical suspects, said Ramesh Shinde, National Spokesperson, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.
Sandeep Palni, co-organiser of Hindu Raksha Maha Aghadi; Shri Chandrakant (Bhai) Pandit, of Gomantak Mandir Maha Sangh; Nitin Phaldessai, Goa Chief, National Bajrang Dal; Suresh Dicholkar, Shriganesh Gaude and Sanatan Sanstha’s Sou. Shubha Sawant were present for the press conference.
