The State government has nominated officers, at the rank of Goa Civil Service as “Swayampurna Mitra’, who would visit each village panchayat on every Saturday outlining the road map to make Goa self-sufficient.
The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant announced during his online interaction with panchayat representatives on his government’s ambitious ‘Swayampurna Goa’ initiative.
He said that the Mitra will assist village panchayats and locals with self-employment and also help the needy to avail various government schemes.
“Goa is dependent on everything from other States right from Milk, eggs, vegetables, flowers,. It’s time that we become self-reliant in this. it is very important to outline a road map to make Goa self-sufficient over next three years,” he said.
Sawant said that total 80 schemes, proposed under Atmanirbhar Bharat, would be implemented across all villages, to make them self-sufficient.
He also said that even if God becomes CM, it is not possible to provide government jobs to all.
