PANAJI: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Amit Patkar said that it is evident that the most corrupt BJP Goa Government and Fisheries Minister Nilkant Halarnkar and the Fisheries Department, have utterly failed in their duties, prioritizing vested interests over the protection of Goa’s marine ecosystem and safety.
“Most corrupt BJP Goa Government and Fisheries Minister Nilkant Halarnkar and the Fisheries Department, have utterly failed in their duties, prioritizing vested interests over the protection of Goa’s marine ecosystem and safety” said Patkar
He further said that Goan’s deserve answers and immediate corrective action.
“CM Sawant must explain why destructive bull trawling continues unchecked in Goa’s waters,” he added
Patkar also questioned DGP Goa, as to how is it that coastal security has to rely on traditional fishermen’s boats to catch illegal vessels?.
“Such reckless oversight exposes how unsafe Goa’s coastline truly is, making it vulnerable not just to illegal fishing but also to potential terrorist activities,” he added
Patkar also claimed that this failure puts both our communities and national security at risk.
“Commendable job by the two young policemen and traditional fishermen who risked their lives to catch Bull Trawling amidst a group of 20 trawlers,” he added
The Congress president also said that their bravery and commitment to protecting Goa’s waters deserve recognition.
“Congress will always stand to protect the interests of Goa and Goans,” he added
