PORVORIM: The Directorate of Education has asked schools to identify and map the school going children of migrant workers, who have now left the State in view of Covid-19 pandemic.
In a circular issued to Heads of Schools, Director Education Santosh Amonkar has said that the information be submitted within eight days.
“Due to Covid-19 large number of migrant labourers along with their families and children have returned to their native place and are likely to stay there for varying period. This may lead to a distruption in studies and learning of children of migrant labourers,” circular issued today, said.
The department has said that it is important to ensure that access to education to all such children.
“Schools are hereby requested to furnish information of such migrant labourers children within eight days for compilation And onward submission to MHRD,’ it added.
