PANAJI: The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today announced ambitious plan to develop 100 water bodies in the forest areas to reduce the growing human-animal conflict.
On the occasion of World Environment Day today, Sawant urged citizens to work along with the government towards ecosystem restoration.
Sawant in his address also said that government is committed towards sustainable development.
He announced that in order to reduce the human-animal conflict, the forest department has proposed to develop 100 water bodies in the forest for wildlife. He also said that around five lakh samplings will be planted across State.
CM said that a compensation of Rs ten lakh relief is provided to those victims of human-animal conflict.
Further, Sawant said that the theme of the World Environment Day is ecosystem restoration and to achieve the same, all will have to work together.
