PANAJI: Minister for Archives and Archeology Chandrakant Kavlekar has infomred that the state governemnt has prepared a technical sanction to develop/restore the Corjuem Fort as a historical monument from a touristic point of view.
“The estimate for the said work is prepared by the Directorate of Archives and Archaeology through its empaneled Consultant. The estimate has been submitted to office of the Executive Engineer Work Div V (North-Bldgs) P.W.D. for issuance of Technical Sanction,” informed Kavlekar
He further said that technical sanction is awaited from the office of Executive Engineer Work Division V (North-Bldgs) P.W.D.
Meanwhile, the minister had informed that the work will be tendered through online mode after the technical Sanction is obtained.
Corjuem Fort is a fortress situated 4 kilometres from the village of Aldona on the river island of Corjuem, Goa. It was a military fortress for the defense of Portuguese India.
