PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today said that the state government will provide 100 percent tap water connections to all households before end of this year.
CM had attended a Video Conferencing (VC) meeting chaired by Union Minister of Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat & MoS Jal Shakti Rattan Lal Kataria.
During the meeting CM Dr Pramod Sawant reiterated Goa’s commitment to provide regular supply of safe drinking water and 100% tap connections to all households in the State within year 2020.
In a meeting recently chaired by the secretary for drinking water and sanitation, Goa presented its annual action plan for 2020-21, wherein chief secretary Parimal Rai assured the Centre of providing 100% tap connections by 2021.
Launched by the prime minister in 2019, the Jal Jeevan mission aims to ensure that every rural household has drinking water supply in adequate quantity on regular basis. The ministry of Jal Shakti is working closely with states and union territories to achieve the mission objectives.
