PANAJI: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that the state government is working unabated to ensure the state gets a genome sequencing machine at the earliest.
“The government of Goa is working unabated to ensure we get a genome sequencing machine at the earliest; this will enable us to test samples in the state and avail results at the earliest,” said Rane
He further said that the govt of Goa is already in the process of procuring a genome sequencing machine. USAID & Jhpeigo has already given us assurances in this regard.
“I have issued directions to Dean GMC to pursue a proposal for another machine that we’d already submitted to the govt for clearance,” he added.
On Wednesday, the state government had announced fresh restrictions on business and commercial operations like casinos, nightclubs, bars and restaurants and entertainment parks, directing that they should be operational at 50 per cent of their operational capacity.
According to the restrictions, entry to all such establishments will be allowed only if the guests are fully vaccinated or have a Covid negative test report issued 24 hours before entry.
