PANAJI: Town and Country Planning (TCP) Minister Vishwajit Rane today informed us that the TCP board has decided to remove Parra, Nagoa, Arpora from the planning areas.
Rane also informed that the Greater Panjim Planning and Development Area will be de-notified.
“We have decided to dismantle the Greater Panaji Planning and Development Area; Greater Panaji will no longer exist from today,” said Rane.
He further said that the TCP Board has also decided to remove Nagoa and Arpora from the planning areas after scrutiny.
“With this amalgamation of Planning Areas with NGPDA and withdrawal of Kadamba Planning Area, Greater Panaji PDA shall cease to have its jurisdiction over these Planning Areas and accordingly the provisions of the Act under Section 19(2) (i) shall be applicable, as regards to Greater Panaji PDA,” the TCP board resolved.
Accordingly, Minister said that the Government had earlier constituted a Greater Panaji Planning & Development Authority with the following Planning Areas under its jurisdiction: Panaji Planning Area, Taleigao Planning Area, Kadamba Planning Area and Bambolim Planning Area.
“Government had constituted North Goa Planning & Development Authority having following Planning Areas under its jurisdiction: Mapusa Planning Area.
Calangute-Candolim Planning Area and Arpora-Nagao-Parra Planning Area,” he said.
In regards to Kadamba ODP, Rane said that the Board, during its earlier meeting, had taken an overview over the difficulties faced by the general public having their properties affected by Kadamba ODP, whereby some of the properties were partly coming under the jurisdiction of GPPDA and partly under the jurisdiction of Tiswadi Taluka Office.
The Minister said that the Board had specifically taken into account a peculiar situation arising out of this fact whereby the owner of one particular property is required to obtain Development Permission from Greater Panaji PDA for part of the portion of his plot falling under GPPDA and obtain Technical Clearance from Tiswadi Taluka Office for the construction proposed by him in the remaining portion of his plot falling under the jurisdiction of Tiswadi Taluka Office.
“There are circumstances wherein the construction proposed in a single plot has got Development Permission from GPPDA as well as Technical Clearance obtained from TCP Department,” the Minister said.
Meanwhile, Rane said that Considering various issues involved and in the larger public interest, it is proposed to withdraw Kadamba Planning Area from the operation of the TCP Act as provided under Section 19 of the same Act.
