Canacona: The town of Poinguinim in Canacona witnessed a vibrant and enthusiastic celebration to mark the 395th birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The event, organized by the Shivjayanti Mahotsav Samiti, Poinguinim, drew hundreds of participants who joined in the grand procession known as Bhavya Shivyatra.
The Bhavya Shivyatra was inaugurated by prominent dignitaries including Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, former Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Kavalekar, Jana-Sena Supremo Janardhan Bhandari, and Bhavana Bhandari. The procession began at Poinguinim Bazar and culminated at the Shree Parshuram Temple in Poinguinim, Canacona.
The event was characterized by immense enthusiasm and traditional fervor, reflecting the enduring legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. His visionary leadership, military prowess, and charismatic persona continue to inspire generations across India. The Shivjayanti Mahotsav Samiti, Poinguinim, has been celebrating this occasion annually to pay tribute to the legendary leader.
In addition to the procession, the samiti also organized cultural performances and awarded prizes to participants, further enriching the celebration.
