Sanvordem: A man was allegedly attacked by a group of assailants outside a bar in Sanvordem on Sunday night. Curchorem Police have registered a case after receiving a complaint from Joyson Fernandes, a resident of Curchorem.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on 30 November 2025 at around 9:00 pm at Bagicha Bar & Restaurant, Periudak, Sanvordem. The complainant stated that the accused, identified as Sainath Gaonkar of Dabal, Dharbandora, initially confronted him, grabbed him by the neck in an aggressive manner and argued with him, threatening him in Konkani.
Police said Gaonkar, along with around 10 unidentified accomplices, then allegedly assaulted Joyson and his friend Gaurav Hornekar. The group reportedly used slaps, fist blows, as well as hockey sticks, an iron rod, a chopper, and wooden dandas during the attack.
The complainant sustained simple injuries, including bruises and abrasions on his body.
Further investigation is underway under PSI Pramod Tari of Curchorem Police Station to identify the remaining accused and establish the full sequence of events.
