Anjuna: Police have registered a case after a group of unidentified men allegedly harassed a woman and assaulted two youths near the Vagator helipad early on Tuesday morning.
As per the complaint filed by Rohan Palyekar (29), resident of Guirim, the incident occurred around 6 am on November 11, 2025, when one of the accused, wearing a white shirt, passed sexually coloured remarks and used abusive language towards his female friend, outraging her modesty.
Soon after, four other men joined in, allegedly hurling abuses and physically attacking the complainant and his friends. One of the victims, Shubham, was hit on the head with a glass bottle and later pelted with stones, while Palyekar was punched and struck with a stone, sustaining head injuries.
During the scuffle, one of the accused allegedly snatched a gold chain worth ₹1.3 lakh from Shubham and damaged their Alto car (GA-03-P-3987), causing losses estimated at ₹20,000.
Anjuna Police have registered Crime No. 147/2025 under Sections 75(3), 352, 118(2), 125(a), 134, and 324(5) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
Police said efforts are underway to identify and trace the accused involved in the incident.
