PONDA: A clash involving multiple persons broke out on the service road near Hotel Abhilasha/Sun Inn at Varkhande, Ponda, on September 2, leading to cross-complaints being lodged at Ponda Police Station.
In one complaint, Nilesh Naik of Varkhande alleged that around 3.30 pm, Shekhar Vagh of Shantinagar abused him in filthy language, assaulted him with punches and a helmet, damaged his mobile phone, and broke his gold chain, causing him simple injuries.
In a counter-complaint, Shekhar Dhondiba Vagh stated that around 3.20 pm, prior to the incident, a group of persons identified as Nilesh Naik, Sairaj Naik, Nitin Naik, Videsh Naik, Sunny Khaddo, Vithu Mestry, along with three unknown persons, formed an unlawful assembly and assaulted him. He alleged that Nilesh Naik struck him with a danda on his back while others pushed him to the ground, punched and kicked him, and threatened him with dire consequences, causing him simple injuries.
Both cases have been registered at Ponda Police Station. Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Krishna Gawas and PSI Sushant Gaonkar.
