PANAJI: The Goa State Council of Educational Research and Training (GSCERT) will organise a taluka-wise detailed orientation programme on the National Education Policy (NEP–2020) for Parent-Teachers’ Associations (PTAs), School Management Committees (SMCs) and management members of Government and Government-aided/unaided primary and high schools across the State.
The initiative will commence from Quepem taluka on Monday, February 23, 2026.
The programme aims to enhance awareness and deepen understanding of the key provisions, objectives and implementation framework of NEP–2020 among parents and school management representatives. Emphasising the crucial role of parents as key stakeholders in the educational ecosystem, GSCERT stated that their active participation is vital for the effective implementation of the policy at the school level.
Senior officials from GSCERT, the Directorate of Education, the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education and Goa Samagra Shiksha will participate in the sessions. They will provide authentic information and guidance on curricular reforms, assessment changes, the revised academic structure and future implementation plans under NEP–2020.
A key highlight of the programme will be the opportunity for parents and management members to directly interact with policymakers and senior officials. The interactive platform is expected to facilitate open dialogue, clarify doubts and encourage constructive feedback, thereby promoting transparency and collective ownership of educational reforms in the State.
GSCERT has appealed to all PTAs, SMCs and school management members to actively participate in the orientation programme. A detailed taluka-wise schedule has already been communicated to respective schools to ensure smooth coordination and participation.
Through this initiative, GSCERT reiterated its commitment to inclusive participation and collaborative governance in implementing NEP–2020, ensuring that parents and school communities remain active partners in shaping the future of education in Goa.
