PANAJI: The Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (GSCPCR) has announced that it will conduct awareness and outreach programmes for children, teachers, parents, police personnel and other stakeholders on child rights and child protection laws.
The Commission stated that it will also address complaints related to child rights violations, conduct inquiries, take necessary action and monitor the implementation of relevant child protection laws. Pending cases before the Commission will be taken up on priority to ensure timely redressal.
The newly constituted body said it will work with dedication towards safeguarding the welfare of children and protecting their rights. The public has been encouraged to approach the Commission for any concerns related to child rights.
The Commission is headed by Chairperson Shashikant Punaji, along with members Snehal Salgaonkar, Sanjiwani Dessai, Shalaka Dessai, Esther Roe Torres and Sofia De Souza, who have recently assumed charge.
