PANAJI: The Goa Staff Selection Commission (GSSC) has instructed all government departments to submit their vacancy details for the upcoming year through the Commission’s online system, with the deadline set for January 31, 2026.
In an office memorandum, Under Secretary Siddhesh Shetkar reminded departments that only “clear” vacancies—posts that are definitively vacant—should be reported. Anticipated or future vacancies are not to be included.
Citing Clause 4(1) of the GSSC Regulations, the memorandum underscored the mandatory annual requirement that appointing authorities disclose the total count of vacancies in subordinate services to the Commission by January 31 each year.
The GSSC also clarified that posts earmarked for compassionate appointments or employment to dependents of freedom fighters must be subtracted before departments report their final vacancy numbers.
To streamline the process, the Commission has activated an online module on its official website for departments to submit Form I (vacancy statement) along with the accompanying Form II certificate. These forms can only be filed digitally between January 1 and January 31, 2026. Departments have been instructed not to re-list vacancies that they have already notified to the Commission.
Earlier in July, the GSSC had advertised nearly 430 positions across various government departments as part of its ongoing recruitment drive.
