Panaji: As the world prepares to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th, the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has announced a special initiative to honour the contributions and achievements of women.
In a move to encourage women to spend their holidays in Goa, GTDC is offering a 50% discount on room bookings at all its residencies from March 7th to March 9th, 2025.
This gesture not only recognizes the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women but also aims to promote tourism in Goa.
The circular, issued by Kuldeep Arolkar, Managing Director of GTDC, highlights the significance of International Women’s Day and the corporation’s commitment to supporting women.
The letter states, “In order to encourage and facilitate women, it is decided to give 50% discount to women on room bookings to spend their holidays in Goa at all GTDC residencies from 7th to 9th March 2025.” This offer is directed at all managers of GTDC residencies, ensuring that the discount is implemented across all properties.
As noted in the circular, “International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on March 8th for Global recognition of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.” This emphasis underscores GTDC’s commitment to acknowledging and celebrating women’s contributions.
International Women’s Day is a global event that celebrates women’s achievements and raises awareness about gender equality.
By offering this discount, GTDC aims to attract more women travellers to Goa, promoting both tourism and gender inclusivity. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to support women’s empowerment and recognize their invaluable contributions to society.
