Panaji: The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has announced a special Monsoon Trekking Expedition to the scenic Tambdi Surla Waterfalls, scheduled for Sunday, June 29, 2025.
Set within the heart of the Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary, the Tambdi Surla waterfall is a breathtaking monsoon attraction surrounded by dense forest, flowing streams, and abundant biodiversity. As part of the experience, participants will also get the chance to explore the historic 12th-century Shiva Temple at Tambdi Surla—one of Goa’s oldest temples.
The trail from the temple to the waterfalls offers a moderately challenging 90-minute trek (one way), ideal for nature lovers and adventure seekers. The route winds through thick forest paths and natural streams, culminating in a serene pool beneath the gushing falls—perfect for a refreshing dip.
The trek is priced at ₹1400 per person, which covers transport, guiding services, and lunch. Buses will depart from Mapusa Residency at 7:00 AM and Margao Residency at 6:45 AM, with a central reporting point at Paryatan Bhavan, Panaji at 7:30 AM. Additional pick-ups will be arranged at Old Goa, Banasthari, Farmagudi, and Ponda for participant convenience.
Participants are advised to carry essentials such as rainwear, trekking shoes, an extra pair of clothes, snacks, and binoculars. GTDC has emphasized that smoking and alcohol consumption will not be permitted, and participants must strictly avoid littering or using plastic within the sanctuary.
This initiative is part of GTDC’s larger push to encourage eco-friendly and adventure tourism during Goa’s monsoon season, drawing attention to the state’s rich hinterland beauty.
