Panaji: Celebration in Panaji highlights achievements, staff contributions, and future vision for Goa’s tourism sector
The Goa Tourism Development Corporation commemorated its 44th Corporation Day on April 8, 2026, with a vibrant celebration held at the Panaji riverfront. The occasion reflected the organisation’s sustained efforts to strengthen tourism in the state while enhancing the overall travel experience for visitors.
The event witnessed the presence of senior leadership, including the Chairman, Managing Director, key officials, staff members, and their families. The Tourism Minister also attended the function, extending his greetings and acknowledging the Corporation’s role in promoting Goa as a leading destination.
Addressing the gathering, the Chairman highlighted the Corporation’s focus on building a more efficient and sustainable organisation. He noted that the consistent support of the leadership team has played a vital role in driving operational excellence. Emphasising financial stability, he pointed out that the Corporation has maintained steady operational profits over recent years and remains committed to contributing positively to the state’s tourism ecosystem.
The Managing Director reflected on the organisation’s journey over the past four decades, crediting both former and current staff for its progress and achievements. He stated that collective efforts have enabled the Corporation to become self-sufficient and consistently deliver returns, including declaring dividends to the government for four consecutive years.
The celebration brought together employees from various departments in a lively and engaging atmosphere. Cultural performances formed a major highlight, with a fashion show presented by women staff and energetic dance performances by male staff members drawing appreciation from the audience. Interactive games and entertainment activities further added to the festive spirit, with participants receiving spot prizes and recognition for their performances.
The event served as a moment to acknowledge the dedication of employees while reinforcing the Corporation’s long-term commitment to strengthening tourism in Goa. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of the celebration.
