MARGAO: Guardian Angel Sports Club defeated St. Anthony Football Club, Assolda by 4- 1 in the,32nd Curtorim Panchayat Cup Intervillage football tournament organised by Curtorim Gymkhana and played at Curtorim Church ground.
The match started with a fast pace, , although Guardian Angel Sports Club were a little better side, with young players.
Guardian Angel opened their account in the 5th minute by Ryan Menezes neatly placed the ball in the net after receiving a long diagonal pass from Ivo Costa. Again in the 8th minute, Guardian Angel Sports Club increased the lead by Ryan Menezes, at lemon time Guardian Angel was leading by 2-0.
In the second half, St. Anthony Assolda mounted the pressure and decreased the lead by Vitorino Fernandes in the 20th minute with a powerful left foot. Guardian Angel scored two quick goals in the 51st minute by Cyril Dias and Ryan Menezes scored in the dying 60th minute. Ryan Menezes who scored a hat trick was rightly awarded Man of the Match.
Caetano Hilario, Panch of Village Panchayat Curtorim who was the Chief Guest gave away the award.
