CALANGUTE: Calangute police have apprehended a suspected person Dinesh (31), resident of Anjuna, Goa and native of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, for alleged mobile phone theft.
While on patroling duty PC Naik noticed suspicious behavior from suspect Dinesh near Bodke wado, Calangute Bardez Goa. When asked to stop, Dinesh fled, but was chased and questioned by PC Naik.
During interrogation, Dinesh confessed to stealing mobile phones from various locations in Calangute. Four stolen mobile phones were recovered from him, with two linked to Crime No. 138/2024 registered at Calangute Police Station upon the complaint of Shri. Afsar Khan S/ Hanif Khan, age 37 Years, Occ – Private Service, R/o 384/1, 4th cross, Jyothi Layout, Rachenahalli, Thanisandra Bengaluru, Karnataka.
The accused has been taken into custody under Cr No. 138/2024 U/s 303(2) of the BNS 2023 for further investigation to recover stolen property and to identify additional involvement.
This successful operation demonstrates Calangute Police’s commitment to combating mobile phone theft and ensuring public safety.
Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of PI Calangute Shri Paresh G Naik and SDPO Porvorim Shri Vishwesh Karpe under the overall supervision of SP North.
