MARGAO: Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly organised a meeting with residents of the Gulem ward in Canacona in order to seek irrevocable No Objections for the widening of National Highway 17 from Agonda junction (Karmal ghat) to Bhumipurush temple Gulem.
While addressing the largely attended gathering, he urged to co-operate with the government for work of widening the road, which is presently highly dangerous for vehicular traffic leading to damage to life & property & also promised to compensate sizeably after the government acquisition of land.
Subhash Pagi, the ex-Assistant Engineer, explained the details of the widening road of wd proposed four-lane highway map.
After the patient hearing, all Gulem residents agreed to issue irrevocable NOC for the proposed widening of NH17 in the overall interest of Canconkars & public in general.
Ganesh Velip Ex Sarpanch welcomed the gathering.
