CANACONA: A woman from Gulem working in Field at Welwada (Poinguinim) was injured after having an deadly encounter with a wild boar (Randukor) at a time when the woman was working in a Farm/Field in Welwada-Poinguinim.
It was on January 31st at about 9 o’clock, that Jayanti Velip from Gulem was working in the farm belonging to one Laxman Prabhgaonkar at Welwada (Poinguinim), when a Wild Boar came and attacked her with its head-butt, throwing Jayanti down in in mud of the field.
After Jayanti still in shock due to the sudden attack however re-gained courage as the Wild Boar (Randukor) Wild boar followed her down in field to attack her again, Jayanti in a fit of and self defense caught hold of the Boars snout’s (Horns like outside Teeths) with her both hands and virtually wrestled (Kusthi) with the the boar to avert its further attack on her. After they wrestled in the mud for some moments, the wild boar broke free from Jayanti’s hands, and eventually fled from the field, leaving Jayaltis with her both hands bleeding with cuts and bruises she suffered from the wild boars snouts.
With using both her hands on wildboar snouts which were almost in the mouth of Wild boar, Jayanti eventually suffered injuries to both of her hands, with cuts and bruises on her figures and palms.
Presently, Jayanti is recovering in the Community Health Centre, (CHC), Canacona receiving treatment for her both injured hand
According to sources, the farm owner Prabhugaonkar lodged a complaint with the Forest Department (Wildlife) for the attack by wild boar on the lady working his field.
