CANACONA: It was a prized catch! Canacona police, who had intelligence of the involvement of a known offender dealing in the narcotics trade, has finally brought the accused along with his partner-in-deals (an accomplice) in the police net in a dramatic raid conducted on Tuesday afternoon.
When chased along the road to Canacona Railway Station at Nagorcem, the two arrested drug peddlers were found in possession of Charas and Ganja worth Rs.6.65 lakhs.
According to Canacona PI Chandrakant Gawas, in a Narcotic raid conducted between 12.30 hrs to 15.00hrs on Tuesday at Nagarcem on the Canacona Railway Station Road, Canacona Police nabbed two persons, namely Sheikh Dadu Daudama, age 25 yrs r/o Nagarcem Canacona Goa and Gohil s/o Govind Bhairely age 42yrs r/o Bhairwliwada Char Rasta Canacona Goa. When searched, 510 grams of Charas and 1.55 kg of Ganja were seized from their possession. The seized drugs were together worth Rs 6,65,400/-.
Both the accused are arrested and in police lockup, informed Gawas, and further investigation is in progress under the Supervision of SDPO Canacona and SP South.
According to sources, Gohil running establishments in a prime locality, reportedly was carrying out drug trafficking in full limelight and was known to be a habitual drug dealer/offender was previously arrested by Karwar police and is also reportedly facing a murder trial in the State.
