New Delhi: As India prepares to face Australia in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final at the Dubai International Stadium on Tuesday, March 4, cricket legend Harbhajan Singh has emphasized the importance of dismissing Australian opener Travis Head early. Head has been a consistent threat to India, notably scoring centuries in the 2023 World Test Championship Final and the 2023 ODI World Cup Final. His aggressive batting style has often given Australia a strong start, making him a key target for Indian bowlers.
Harbhajan advised Mohammed Shami, India’s veteran pacer, to focus on getting Head out as soon as possible. “First thing is, get the fear of Travis Head out of your mind. Try and get Travis Head out. Shami saab, bahut ho gaya Travis Head ka kaam, now don’t let him score runs,” Harbhajan said. He also cautioned against the Australian middle order, particularly Glenn Maxwell and Josh Inglis, known for their explosive batting.
India has had a dominant run in the tournament, winning all their group stage matches against Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand. Meanwhile, Australia’s journey has been marked by resilience, despite missing key players. They secured their semi-final spot after a record-breaking chase against England and two rain-affected matches.
