PANAJI: Justice Nitin Sambre of the Bombay High Court at Goa granted bail today to Mahendra Tanawde co-accused in attempt to murder case registered by Fatorda PS on ground that Section 212 IPC was bailable offence and Prosecution had no material to connect accused with crime under Section 120B IPC.
Adv C A Ferreira with Advs Amey Prabhudessai & Sanman Keny appeared for Mahendra Tanawde whilst Addl Public Prosecutor Pravin Phaldessai appeared for the State.
Additional session court judge Edgar Fernandes had dismissed the bail applications of the seven accused arrested in the attempt to murder case of alleged history-sheeter Anwar Shaikh.
It may be recalled that on the February 16, Anwar Shaikh, an undertrial who was out on bail was assaulted with sharp objects and was shot at by some assailants who were later identified by the victim in his statement
