PANAJI: High Court of Bombay at Goa has dismissed the petition filed by Lavu Mamledar against MGP challenging his expulsion from the party and also from the post of general secretary.
Mamledar had filed a plea before the division bench of Justices M S Sonak and M S Jawalkar challenging his expulsion from the party and also from the post of general secretary. He has argued that the party’s action against him has not followed the procedures.
The HC during the hearing upheld that MGP’s election held on January 19.
“Today’s decision by the HC shows that MGP is never involved in any illegalities and we go by the constitution of the Party. Many people had tried to finish MGP but it can never happen; MGP is Goa’s pride,” said MGP President Deepak Dhavalikar.
MGP’s Central Committee had expelled its former MLA and current general secretary Lavoo Mamledar for what the party called “anti-party activities and indiscipline”.
“We had decided to expel him for anti-party activities and indiscipline as per the Constitution of the MGP. We had given him enough chances to fall in line but he continued the same,” Dhavalikar added
