PANAJI: The High Court has quashed and set aside the order of the North Goa Sessions Court dated June 9, 2025, which had directed the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) and CBI to register an FIR within 24 hours into the alleged ₹300 crore scam related to the allotment of plots at Patto by the Economic Development Corporation (EDC).
The High Court observed that a preliminary inquiry must first be conducted before registration of any FIR.
Consequently, the matter has been remanded back to the Sessions Court for fresh consideration.
The case involves allegations of large-scale corruption in the allocation of plots at Patto, raising questions about the functioning of the EDC.
The High Court’s ruling effectively stalls immediate criminal investigation, emphasizing the need for a proper inquiry process.
