PANAJI: The Children’s Court order granting history sheeter Tarzan Parsekar anticipatory bail has been taken suo moto cognizance by the Bombay High Court in Goa, following instructions from the Supreme Court.
This is despite the fact that Parsekar has multiple pending cases against him and that the High Court had previously cancelled his bail in one case.
Parsekar was granted bail by the Children’s Court on the basis of his petition in Anticipatory Bail Application No. 2/2024 in relation to FIR No. 6/2024, despite the prosecution’s ongoing case to have the regular bail granted to him cancelled before the High Court.
“The investigating agency replied to the said proceedings and informed the learned Children’s Court that Respondent No. 1 (Parsekar), who was given conditions when the previous Bail Application No. 502 of 2023 (F) was granted, had broken those conditions. As a result, the application for cancellation of bail is currently pending before this Court (High Court).” The learned Children’s Court granted bail to Respondent No. 1 on January 24, 2024, despite the fact that these facts are noted in paragraphs 5, 6, and 7 of the Anticipatory Bail Application No. 2/2024, the High Court observed.
The history-sheeter Tarzan Parsekar’s bail was revoked by the Bombay High Court in Goa because he broke the terms of the bail, went into the North Goa District, and attacked a man.
