CANACONA: A General Health Check-up Camp was organized for 62 underprivileged children of Shree Mataji Mandir Vidhyarthi Vasatigruha, Tembewada–Canacona, with the support of the Directorate of Health Services, Campal, Panaji.
A special medical team from Hospicio Hospital, Margao, and CHC Canacona conducted consultations in General Medicine, Pediatrics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Dentistry, and Counseling.
A total of 57 students underwent detailed screenings, including blood investigations, hemoglobin checks, and other basic tests. As many as 18 students were referred to Hospicio Hospital for advanced ENT treatment. Free medicines were distributed to all students.
The camp also aimed at spreading awareness about preventive healthcare and cleanliness, ensuring timely medical guidance for the children.
The consulting doctors included Dr. Anusha Kholkar (Pediatrician), Dr. Poonam Kamat (ENT Specialist), Dr. Sonia Naik (Dermatologist), Dr. Jarvis Barbosa (Ophthalmologist), Dr. Sneha Naik (CHC Medical Officer), and Dr. Sanill (Dentist).
The inaugural function was graced by former chairperson and Bhagatwada councillor Nitu Sameer Desai, along with Dr. Diwakarji Velip (CHC Ayurvedic Doctor), Sanitary Inspector Pranay Naik (CHC), and Vasatigruha Pramukh Shrikant.
The programme was organized under the aegis of Keshav Seva Sadhana and was compered by Hostel Assistant Teacher Satish Velip.
