PANAJI: Continuing the state’s efforts under Project Parivartan to strengthen public healthcare, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane launched OPEN-AMR, a digital learning platform aimed at enhancing the skills of nurses and frontline healthcare workers in Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC).
The platform was unveiled at the Institute of Nursing Education (INE), Bambolim, in the presence of Meenakshi Nevatia, Country President of Pfizer India; Dr. Shripad Desai, Deputy Senior Vice President and Country Team Liaison at Americares; Dr. Ulhas Vasave, Director – Programs, Americares India Foundation; Dr. Rupa Naik, Director of Health Services; and Prof. Wilson Fernandes, Principal of INE.
OPEN-AMR is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Pfizer India and is being implemented by the Americares India Foundation. The platform provides self-paced, certified training modules in multiple Indian languages, enabling healthcare professionals to upgrade their knowledge conveniently and free of cost. Designed for flexibility and accessibility, it allows learners to access training anytime and anywhere, bringing skill enhancement closer to the point of care.
Addressing the gathering, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said, “Strengthening our healthcare system begins with empowering our frontline workers with the right knowledge and tools. OPEN-AMR is a significant step towards building capacity in antimicrobial stewardship and infection control, which are critical to patient safety and public health. Through Project Parivartan, we remain committed to leveraging innovation and partnerships to ensure quality healthcare for every Goan.”
