Panaji: In a significant move to enhance healthcare facilities in Curtorim, Goa, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane convened a meeting to discuss the progress and future plans for the local health centre.
The meeting, held in Curtorim, was attended by key stakeholders including Reginaldo Lourenco, the Hon’ble MLA for Curtorim and Chairman of the Goa Industrial Development Corporation, Dr. Rupa Naik, Director of the Directorate of Health Services, Pooja Madkaikar, Under Secretary, and Dr. Vallabh Nadkarni, Health Officer for Curtorim.
The primary focus of the discussion was the establishment of a dialysis unit at the Curtorim Health Centre, a project deemed a top priority.
According to Minister Rane, the availability of dialysis services will enable residents to receive critical treatment within their own community, eliminating the need for lengthy travel to other facilities.
The meeting also addressed the necessity of making a small operation theatre functional at the centre, which will facilitate safe deliveries and timely medical interventions.
In addition to these immediate needs, the group reviewed plans for the construction and relocation of the Primary Health Centre (PHC), with an emphasis on improving infrastructure and expanding the range of services offered. “Our commitment is to strengthen healthcare in Curtorim and bring better medical facilities to the people,” Minister Rane emphasized.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance healthcare accessibility and quality in the region, ensuring that local residents have access to comprehensive medical care without having to seek services elsewhere.
