Panaji: In a significant development for healthcare in North Goa, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane held a high-level meeting on Tuesday to discuss the early operationalisation of the Community Health Centre (CHC) Tuem in Pernem.
The meeting was attended by Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar, Secretary (Health) Arun Kumar Mishra, IAS, Director of Health Services Dr. Rupa Naik, Health Officer Tuem Dr. Anil Moraskar, and Director (Administration) DHS Pooja Madkaiker.
Minister Rane stated that the meeting was focused on aligning inter-departmental efforts to fast-track the functioning of CHC Tuem. He acknowledged MLA Jit Arolkar’s continued commitment and follow-up to ensure top-notch healthcare facilities for his constituents in the Mandrem constituency.
“We are committed to ensuring that the people of Pernem receive quality and accessible healthcare. Strengthening last-mile healthcare delivery in Goa is our collective goal,” the Health Minister said in a statement.
Officials are expected to accelerate the remaining formalities and infrastructure requirements to make CHC Tuem fully functional in the near future. The centre is seen as a critical addition to healthcare services in North Goa, especially for rural and semi-urban communities.
