Panaji: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane reviewed the measures being implemented by the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) to ensure the safety and quality of food and medicines for the people of Goa.
During the review meeting, detailed discussions were held to assess existing processes, identify gaps, and explore improved methods of functioning aimed at strengthening regulatory systems and ensuring seamless coordination among departments.
“Our vision is very clear — to safeguard the health and safety of every Goan through continuous transformation and improvement. Engaging interactions like these help us evaluate what is working, identify shortcomings, and adopt better practices to further strengthen our systems,” Rane said.
The Health Minister stressed the importance of proactive monitoring, efficient enforcement, and inter-departmental coordination to maintain high safety standards across the State.
The review was conducted in the presence of FDA Director Mrs Shweta Desai, OSD to the Health Minister Dr Raj Nanda, OSD to the Health Minister Ms Frazella de Araujo, and Advisor to the Health Minister Dr Geeta Deshmukh.
Officials said the exercise reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring public health safety and enhancing the effectiveness of regulatory mechanisms through continuous improvement.
