CANACONA: Canacona Health team alongwith Panchayat of Agonda inspects a drainage filled and infested with fishwater/waste discharge at Parvem (Agonda) on Thursday.
The health team consisting of medical officer Dr. Diwakar Velipji and Sanitary Inspector Pranay Naik in the presence of Agonda Sarpanch Nilesh Pagui, Panchayat Secretary Amol K Naikgaunkar, ward panch Prettal Fernandes inspected the drainage near by to the Fish Vendors

Instructed to remove all waste water pipes which are connected to local drain and also instructed and warned fish-vendors to stop the throwing of waste water in drainage otherwise strict action will be taken under health act against the fish selling women.
The fish vendors numbering two women who permanently occupy the space are accused of discharging fish waste and fishwater into the drains due to which strong rotten smell of fishwater engulf the area.
Also, a few waste water pipes are seen casually connected to the drains due to which the waste water accumulates giving rise to mosquitoes menace in the entire area.
